Well done Michelle and Sarah adding to the suggestions on how to manage after this operation. Re-reading took me back a few years on the process of having both shoulders replaced but I am pleased to say that my shoulders are doing very well and I still swim half a mile every day crawl and backstroke.

Help! I had total shoulder replacement a year and a half ago, everything went great. Until…..about 7 months after surgery, I started experiencing severe pain from about mid incision down and also lost the mobility that I had gained back after surgery. I have had injections, ct s and and an ultrasound with no relief. I recently had a joint aspiration to test for infection. Has anyone else experienced this? Help me!

Hi Amy, Iām sorry to hear about the problems that you are experiencing at the moment. I presume that you have been in contact with your surgeon to see what they think. There may be a chance that you could benefit from further surgical procedures in order to regain some of the movement that you have lost.
After I tore my rotor cuff tendon following my first shoulder replacement I knew immediately that something was wrong. That was on 19th December, I was back in surgery on 24th. Thankfully the procedure was a success and although it is not as strong as my second replacement, Iām grateful to my surgeon every day for giving me the range of movement and strength that I do have.
Hopefully you will get some test results back soon and are able to get the treatment you need to alleviate the problem. Please let me know how you get on, take care š
