I’m not feeling great today, I’ve had a rotten cold virus for well over a week now and the cough is keeping me awake at night. Unfortunately, this gives me too much time to think, to think about horror stories of what can go wrong and to remind myself that I wouldn’t be doing it at all if I could carry on living with the pain. Six years ago I was in the same predicament while I awaited surgery on my spine and I know from my own experience that things are going to get a LOT worse before they get better. But get better they will – as long as I do the exercises and don’t try to hang out the washing!

Yes, my issue is hanging out the wash regardless. I currently have a broken arm and had one surgery of metal plate and screws to put my arm back together. Due to Osteoporosis the screws are pulling out and the doc says that I need a Total Shoulder Replacement. I see so many things that can go wrong. I am afraid. I am not sure how to handle this due to all the issues. What if?

I understand that you are afraid, but what if you DON’T have the surgery? The doc would not be suggesting it if it wasn’t necessary and you have to ask yourself how much longer can you carry on without it. For me there came a point where I was unable to sleep because of the pain, unable to brush my hair or lift a mug of tea – then I had to make the decision left or right one first? Without any information online to tell me what to expect I decided to write this blog. I’m happy to answer any questions if I can help. Take care.
