I had my review appointment on Wednesday this week and I mentioned that I was still concerned that the left shoulder was still sore over two years later. X-rays were taken of both shoulders and everything is exactly how it should be. However, even though my range of movement is fantastic, the fact that I had two operations on the left one within four weeks may mean that this is as good as it gets and I am to expect some soreness. I’m OK with that though, the improvement has been brilliant and as long as I am careful it should last me many years. My next check-up will be a year from now – in July 2019.
Since my last post I have been contacted by many people who have either had, or are waiting to have, the same surgery. It’s great to share experiences with other people, so if you would like to share your story then please contact me and I will add it to the Your Stories page of this blog
I would also welcome any suggestions at how to make this blog better or easier to use – please use the Contact Me page to pass on your comments.
Many thanks

Well done Michelle. As you say, we are both so much better after having the operations but sometimes there is minor discomfort, maybe more at night if you sleep on your shoulder I find. The “new” shoulders need treating with respect but exercise I believe is very good for them which is why I swim half a mile a day doing breast, crawl and backstroke. And for those who have not read my story, I am 72 next month! If anyone thinking of having the operation is worried, then please don’t be but make sure that you do as you are told post-op and your exercises!
