I got discharged a couple of hours ago and seem to have been eating ever since. I’d not eaten for almost 24 hours but wasn’t hungry until I started. Despite having a sore throat and bruised neck from the tubes used in surgery, I’ve managed to shovel away quite a few calories – although unfortunately I’ve not been able to wash it down with a nice glass of wine. 🍷🍷🍷

The doctor came to see me afterwards and said the surgery had gone well so now we just have to wait to see how well I will recover. I’ve to go back to see him in two weeks but in the meantime the sling only comes off to wash and dress and I’ve to rest as much as possible until then. It’s more uncomfortable this time as the sling is tighter and also fastened around my waist as well as over my shoulder but I guess it’s a small price to pay if my arm has been saved 😦
