Once more I have taken a little step back. The muscle in my left arm between my elbow and shoulder is extremely painful, which I assume is due to the physio exercises – although I will check on Monday at my next appointment. To make matters worse my right arm is now giving me serious problems again, maybe this is due to it having to ‘do all the work’. Getting in and out of bed is a huge effort which means not putting any weight on my left arm, whilst trying not to put too much weight on my right arm – which I can actually hear grinding with the effort. I guess the more my left shoulder improves the worse my right one will seem so the sooner I can do it all again the better.
For those of you who are interested, I have created a Gallery Page showing all the photos from this blog in one place – I will add any further new ones to this page.

Ask the Physio if he/she has any suggestions about getting in and out of bed

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, but I have been reading your blog with great admiration and interest. I’ve heard people who have had a hip replacement say that their “good” other hip is worse after the op on the bad one, as they’re using it more. Apparently you also tend to only feel the pain in the more painful side, but once that starts getting better the other side is then the worst pain and you feel that instead.
In any case, you’ve clearly got a long road ahead of you – but at least you’re on it! Get all help you can, and get as much as you can from the physio. It will be worth it all in the end. Take care. x
