For some reason I decided that it would be a good idea to try and have a bath today. I managed to get in facing the wrong way then do a half turn before lowering myself into the bath – I had to do it this way so that I could support myself with the ‘good’ arm. So I had my bath, feeling quite pleased with myself until I came to get out …. oh dear!
I realised that my ‘good’ arm wasn’t strong enough to pull myself up. So we emptied the bath and I tried to turn over onto my knees. Unfortunately I kept slipping and by this time I was starting to worry. Then I had a brainwave and asked Steve to fetch a rubber mat which we got under me so I could turn over onto my knees before standing up. Just as well I had room to do this or it would have been very distressing for us both as Steve was unable to lift me.
Lesson learnt – once I get stitches out I’ll stick to using the shower until such time I can put weight on my left arm. 😠

I’m sorry .. I know I shouldn’t but I did have a chuckle to myself. Look on the bright side, at least Steve was home to help you! Hate to think what would have happened if he wasn’t 🙂
