Yesterday was awful – when I woke up my hand was completely numb and it pretty much stayed that way all day. Various medics came to look at it and the decision was made to temporarily switch off the nerve block as sometimes when they stop the pain this can happen. It was planned to switch it back on after a couple of hours but the day went on with no feeling at all.

Needless to say there were tears and lots of self pity but after 5 hours there was a twitch and it was slow improvements from then. It’s now the middle of the night and I’m thrilled to report that I may have turned a corner. So excited I’ve just been down to nurses station to tell them the good news and squeeze both hands with almost equal force. Now i just need to make sure I don’t overdo things as anyone who knows me will know what I’m like 😀
