On leaving Newcastle (UK) airport this morning i managed to set off the alarms again. It was quite entertaining for the staff to scan my shoulders using the portable scanner as the sound it made was quite musical 😀

Planning bilateral shoulder replacements. My husband bought your book for me. It’s great. Many helpful tips and a realistic view of the ups and downs. How are your shoulders now? Do you carry a card for metal detector issues?

I now have excellent range of movement in both shoulders however I do suffer discomfort from time to time, mostly in the left which was the first one I had done and I tore the rotor cuff tendon after four weeks and needed an emergency repair. I find certain weather effects my joint pain but nowhere near as bad as pre surgery. I don’t have a card for metal detector issues, the airports would still need to scan anyway. Good luck with your op and if you have any more questions just let me know.
